Matsuyama Castle|Harujion Flowers at the Kencho-ura Trail Entrance (May 24, 2026)
Walk Record at Matsuyama Castle (May 24, 2026)
This is my walk record at Matsuyama Castle on May 24, 2026. Matsuyama Castle is a historic hilltop castle located in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Today, I started climbing from the "Kencho-ura Tojodo" (the back path behind the Ehime Prefectural Office) at around 5:47 p.m.

I began walking from the entrance of the Kencho-ura Tojodo. Since it was around sunset, the sunlight sinking toward the west was dazzling.
White Flowers Blooming Along the Path (Harujion)

Shortly after starting the climb, I noticed white flowers blooming along the left side of the path. After looking them up, they appeared to be a species of the Asteraceae family called Harujion (Erigeron philadelphicus).
Observing the White Harujion Flowers

The white flowers known as Harujion have a central cluster of yellow granules, which are tubular florets, surrounded by thin, white ray florets. Some flowers were already in full bloom, while others were still in bud. Buds with their white ray florets beginning to show were facing upward, while the smaller buds with no visible florets yet were hanging downward. The Harujion flowers look like they will soon reach full bloom and be at their best.
