Power Outlets on the Tohoku Shinkansen Hayabusa 17

On the Tohoku Shinkansen Hayabusa 17, there is a power outlet located under each seat (right below the small green indicator light).

I originally thought that outlets were only available along the window-side wall, but on the Hayabusa 17 -- perhaps because all seats are reserved -- every seat has its own power outlet.

This is extremely convenient.

No matter which seat you choose, you can charge your iPhone or laptop.

It is very helpful to be able to use your iPhone or computer without worrying about the battery running out before reaching your destination.

Compared to laptops, which now have much better battery life and can last for half a day without charging, iPhones drain very quickly when used continuously. The battery percentage drops fast, and the low‑battery icon appears sooner than expected.

While riding this Shinkansen, you no longer have to worry about your iPhone running out of battery, which is a great relief.

The outlet appears to be rated "AC100V 50Hz 2A."

For normal use such as charging smartphones, tablets, or laptops, this specification should be more than sufficient.
