While dealing with the recent issue regarding the suspected @nifty email password leak, I was checking my @nifty Webmail and noticed an email titled "Your payment was declined". It startled me for a moment.

English summary of the quoted email: The message claims that the user's billing information does not match the records and urges them to update it by clicking a "Login" button. The sender appears to be Nifty Corporation, but the email address and content are suspiciously inconsistent with official communications.

When I first saw the subject line, I briefly wondered whether my credit card had expired or failed, causing my @nifty payment to be declined. For a moment, I was genuinely concerned.

Three reasons why this email was clearly a scam

After taking a closer look, I realized that this was a scam (phishing) email based on the following three points:

(1) The sender's domain is not from @nifty
The sender's address ends with "@embijp.com," not the official "nifty.com."

(2) The login button links to a non-@nifty domain
The URL points to "https://lkomst.com/pol/uin-mhb," which is completely unrelated to @nifty.

(3) The email content is unusually short and unprofessional
Compared to legitimate @nifty notifications, the message is brief, vague, and clearly suspicious.

How to handle such scam emails

If you receive an email like this, never click on any links inside the message. Always check your account status directly through the official @nifty website (www.nifty.com).

Stay alert and don't fall for these scam emails!
